Chief Justice Ok's Rowe for Alderman Hearing

Unaccredited but what does the Chief Justice of the WV Supreme Court care about whether the judge is qualified or not?

We are very disappointed In Mr. Rowe misstating where He graduated from law school! He could easily put this to rest by presenting his sheepskin! Also explain how he was able to take the WV bar in 1978 when he did not graduate from an approved law school! Cannot vote for him until he answers these serious questions!

What are we doing here!? Rowe lies about where he graduated from law school. The school he graduated from (International School of Law) was never accredited by the ABA. George Mason University denies he graduated from its law school even though Rowe says he did. There are serious questions about his qualifications to even be admitted to the bar of WV. Why has it taken this long to have uncovered this lie for a sitting court judge? How many cases has this unqualified judge decided over the years? I'm not a part of Bruce's campaign, but at least he has the honest credentials to sit as a Circuit Court Judge. Putting Rowe back on the bench would be a travesty. Where's the outrage!?

I am getting impatient with folks who label facts as "smear" when the facts expose their candidate.

First, I am not representing Barry Bruce, his campaign or candidacy. I am just sick of WV "good-ol-boy" politics.

Second, the following are facts to consider:

"Please invest a little time and read this in its entirety.

In 1972 an attorney named John Brabner-Smith formed a new private law school in Washington DC. In the seven years the school was in existence it moved from the basement of a church to a row of townhouses and finally to an abandoned department store. He gave it a prestigious sounding name, the International School of Law (ISL). Unfortunately the school was never able to gain recognition by the American Bar Association (ABA) as an accredited law school before it closed. At the same time that ISL was looking for a buyer Virginia was looking to add a law school in the Northern part of the state. So, by an act of the legislature, George Mason University (GMU) announced it would start a law school. To jump-start that program the university bought the assets of ISL, hired a select number of ISL’s professors and allowed some ISL students to transfer to GMU. That was in 1979. In 1980 the George Mason University School of Law was created. By 1986 the school became fully accredited by the American Bar Association and today it is highly regarded.

In 1977 Jim Rowe graduated from ISL, married a lady from West Virginia and moved to Lewisburg. He went to work for a local law firm and listed his alma mater as the International School of Law. More than ten years later, in 1988, Rowe ran for a seat in the WV House of Delegates and contacted the publisher of the national directory of lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell and changed his alma mater in that listing. From 1980 through 1987 his listing correctly stated that he received his law degree from ISL. In the 1988 directory he changed his listing to claim that he graduated from George Mason University. George Mason University School of Law did not even exist in 1977. For two decades nobody bothered to question that disconnect. As a matter of fact, based partly on published credentials citing the prestigious George Mason University as his law school, he was able to convince Governor Underwood to appoint him as a circuit court judge in 1997.

After hearing years of complaints about this judge an internet-savvy senior citizen, puzzled by the judge’s many peculiar rulings, started conducting some research. First there is a statement from the associate dean of records of GMU. GMU, by the conditions of its purchase agreement, is the official keeper of records for the now defunct ISL, as the records were considered part of the assets. However, under no circumstances can a graduate of ISL obtain a GMU diploma or claim they were a student or graduate of George Mason University, because they are not.

Everyone knows that if you lie to a judge you get into trouble and maybe into jail. But what do you do if you believe a judge is not truthful with you?

Judge Jim Rowe claims he graduated from a law school that did not even exist in 1977.. Furthermore the law school he attended was never accredited by the ABA. This is more than just padding your resume.

Somebody who knows him should ask Jim Rowe:“May I please see your diploma?”

GBR Citizen, You are incorrect. In 1978 there was no provision in wva. to study law for 3 yrs and take the wva. bar! There was in va. under supervision of an apprved attorney. In wvw. 1n 1978 if you did not graduate from WVU school of law and had just graduated from an out of state law school the school had to be aba approved in order to qualify to take rhe wva bar. Therein presents the question? Since Rowe graduated in 1977 from ISL, an unapproved school(fact, also GMSL wasn't created until 1979) how did he tke the wva. bar?

nteresting that the Bar is quiet on this. If the WV Bar bent the rules for ANY reason,(and I'm not saying they did) including the need for lawyers to practice in WV in the 70's, then shame on them. Shame on them! As a matter of fact, shame on them for even allowing a situation such as this. We should not have to question the credentials of the members of our judicial system!

Re: Chief Justice Ok's Rowe for Alderman Hearing

Once again, 'ol stormin' Norman is turned away by the Supreme Court (by the conservative, republican chief justice). When will Stinky learn that his Judge Rowe complaints are futile? Rather than address the merits of his claim vs. the Bd. of Educ., he attacks the Judge who he wants to favorably rule on his claim. We all knew you aren't the brightest bulb in the house, but you've lowered your intellect to new lows. Good luck and god bless.

Re: Chief Justice Ok's Rowe for Alderman Hearing

Norman's motion to recuse Rowe is textbook law. To a layman, it would seem stupid or ridiculous.

In lawland, honey, motion or not, if Rowe is going to screw him, he will. Makes no matter.

Norman's motion, for the record, is proper.

You people just LOVE to step on him, don't cha? Put that dirty foot back in your mouth.

Re: Chief Justice Ok's Rowe for Alderman Hearing

We are building a case for federal court. We will be filing a judiciary complaint plus we will also be filing a complaint because Rowe took it upon himself to advise the Respondent's attorney what legal method to use in filing his motion for summary judgement.

And guess what? The attorney obediently responded to Rowe's suggestion and did exactly that. The judge is not supposed to advise the attorneys and he did. We can prove that!

Don't forget we have attorneys reading etater too! We are have contacted one of the best in the business. He is watching Rowe's actions very closely!

What we want to do is to initiate a "class action" lawsuit which will bring justice to many, many people. Over 300 people are impacted by just one of our issues. Hundreds of more people are impacted by what the court's ultimately do with Rowe!

This is an inspired moment for us to help a lot of people merely by helping ourselves.

A lot of people's lives depend upon this case!
