...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING.
SNOW DEVELOPING QUICKLY FIRST THING THIS MORNING WILL ACCUMULATE
INTO THIS AFTERNOON...BEFORE QUITTING FROM SOUTHWEST WEST VIRGINIA
BY MID AFTERNOON NORTHEASTWARD...TO THE NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA
MOUNTAINS THIS EVENING.
ANYWHERE FROM ONE TO FOUR INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE WEST
VIRGINIA LOWLANDS. IN THE MOUNTAINS...THREE TO AS MUCH AS SIX
INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED BY THIS EVENING BEFORE THE SNOW TAPERS OFF.
INITIALLY WARM GROUND MAY LIMIT SNOW ACCUMULATION ON ROADS ALONG
THE RIVER VALLEYS...BUT BRIDGES AND OTHER EXPOSED SURFACES WILL BE
MORE VULNERABLE. AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL...ESPECIALLY THIS MORNING.
AS THE STORM SYSTEM PULLS OUT OF THE AREA TONIGHT...TEMPERATURES
WILL DROP WELL BELOW FREEZING...CAUSING ANY MOISTURE IN LIQUID FORM
ON ROADWAYS TO FREEZE...QUICKLY ON UNTREATED SURFACES.










Today...Snow. Snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Highs around 30. South winds around 5 mph...Becoming north with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon. Chance of snow near 100 percent.
Tonight...Mostly cloudy. Snow likely in the evening. Additional snow accumulation around an inch. Total snow accumulation 3 to 6 inches. Lows around 15. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.
Sunday...Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday Night...Partly cloudy. Cold with lows around 20. Southwest winds around 5 mph.
Monday...Partly sunny with a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Highs in the upper 30s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
Monday Night...Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s.
Tuesday...Partly sunny with a chance of snow. Highs in the upper 30s. Chance of snow 30 percent.

Pouring snow down on Beaver Creek, beautiful dry type. Will try to get pics as soon as possible.

Thank you for the report. Keep them coming all winter, please.

We have a ton on Cheat Mountain! I would guess it to be at least 5 inches and it's still snowing some, not as hard.

I hate to tell you norman, but this is definitely NOT a dry snow!!!! It's a wet, heavy, packing snow that's excellent for snowball fights and making snowmen!!

4 AM EST WEDNESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 AM EST WEDNESDAY.
A POTENT STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION LATER
TODAY...SPREADING A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION INTO RANDOLPH AND
POCAHONTAS COUNTIES LATER THIS EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN
AS SLEET...BEFORE CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN...THEN ALL RAIN LATE
TONIGHT. ANY ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN ARE EXPECTED
TO BE LIGHT.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.



Today...Cloudy with a slight chance of freezing rain. Rain likely this afternoon. Ice accumulation of up to a tenth of an inch. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds around 5 mph...Increasing to southeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph this afternoon. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
Tonight...Sleet and freezing rain in the evening. Rain. Sleet accumulation around an inch. Ice accumulation of up to one half of an inch. Windy with lows in the lower 30s. Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
Wednesday...Isolated thunderstorms. Rain in the morning...Then rain showers likely with numerous snow showers in the afternoon. Little or no additional snow accumulation.
