Another Borderline Controversey

Editor's Note: A landowner I talked to down at the Dirtbean is upset because he thinks that his house ought to be taxed in WV instead of Virginia. On the attached picture you can see where the state line runs and it would appear that his land is in WV. There are clearly marked USGS stakes indicating where the line is in! He says that he has a post office box in Virginia where he gets his mail but that he actually lives in WV.

He would like to have the homestead exemption for the house in which he lives. What do you think?

I think that a person living in WV should be taxed in WV?

Re: Another Borderline Controversey

Is this up in the Hightop area?

Re: Another Borderline Controversey

I talked it over with Obama and he believes it should be taxed in both states.

Re: Another Borderline Controversey

I say, get Marty in on it, he'll have it resurveyed and the line moved over into Virginia a few miles to make sure it is in WV. Heck, maybe he'll even mark the line himself.
