...our sources are reporting that Ben Wilfong will drop the "big one" on the sheriff and Donna this week, probably around Friday--a lawsuit for reinstatement, backpay, and most likely emotional distress for having been suspended without pay for several months now. Our sources are saying that since there has been no grand jury action on the matter, the sheriff was wrong to have suspended him.

Expect to see Ben Wilfong back behind the wheel of his cruiser shortly "enforcing" the law. After all he was arrested in Feb and the magistrate dismissed the charges. Special Prosecutor Pat Via seems to have no intention of pressing charges. So it looks like the county is going to be stuck for about 150 grand.
