To the ppl who voted that they approve of mountain top removal. May I ask, what were you thinking? Instead, maybe I should've asked, what were you drinking?

You are not going to have electricity without coal and you are not going to have coal without mountaintop removal mining. Would you prefer that they shut off everybodys electricity for 3 or 4 days a week?

Not a helluva lot. May produce enough electricity to operate your TV

A 20 foot home made windmill will produce about 1000kw in an 8 to 10 mph wind. I use about 1500 kw in an average day

You must have some home. Most homes don't consume that much electricity in a month.

Why can,t these windmills all be only 20 feet high,then? They would not be as offensive to some people and the energy they produce could be cheaper than that from other sources. At 20 feet high, they could almost be hidden from view of the tourists.

Sorry switched from kw generated to kw-hours used, the units always get you. The average free standing electric heater is 1.5 to 2 kw's. 10 100 Watt light bulbs is 1kw. Leave them on an hour and you got 1 kw hour. Leave them on a month and you have 720 kwhours.

The reason they can't be 20 feet is they increase generation with the square of the diameter. These aren't for one home these are much bigger.
