Concerning the proposed wind turbine project near Camp Allegheny Battlefield, on September 25, 2009 Governor Joe Manchin requested the newly appointed West Virginia Boundary Commission to investigate the state line boundary issue between Pocahontas County, West Virginia, and Highland County, Virginia.
