The good ole days!

OK so the guys voice on the video is a little creepy -but boy does this bring back some memories. What are your favorite childhood games and memories?

Re: The good ole days!

Mine would be:
HOME:

Tree climbing and a good tree swing!

reading books in trees

making mud pies with mud and topping them with grass
for icing.

playing house
playing dolls
playing war

playing with the new baby animals and kittens in the barn.

riding bicycle

swimming in the Greenbrier

laying in the grass cloud watching during the day and stargazing at night.

sleigh riding, igloo making, snowball fights
Dad building a bon fire and drinking hot cocoa around it.

Playing hide and seek

catching lightning bugs in a mason jar

telling ghost stories in a tent while camping out in the back yard.

SCHOOL:
Heads up 7 up

riding on the merry go round, seesaw, monkey bars

playing hopscotch

jumping double rope -double dutch?

having the teachers play games with you during recess

homemade goodies from parents for snacks

Christmas programs where there was actually a play with speaking parts for the children.

School lunches were actually homemade and cooked by some of the most wonderful cooks in Pocahontas County and they would give you double portions of the foods they knew you liked!

Re: The good ole days!

Wow- Nobody has any good memories of their childhood to share??

Re: The good ole days!

My siblings and I enjoyed playing four squares, riding our pony, and participating in the yearly "Christmas Plays," at our little country church, making taffy, going on family picnics, picking buckets of huckleberries for canning, going on family outings to the "Drive-In, and spending time with our grandparents.

The same, only swam in Knapp's , rode a pony, and drove a tractor.

Time to enjoy playing, it seems like there is no time anymore. Yes those were the good ole days!
