THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

Skullsplitter is right; I used to wear naturally formed dreadlocks down to my shoulders, and I had long hair before that, and now that my hair is short, I get hit on a lot more often. Screw long hair!

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

I wouldn't say "screw long hair." I'm a log-haired guy myself. But I understand the multiple reasons for one to cut his hair. I really don't care about the length of one's hair regardless. But I did poke fun at Jaime's expense on his myspace page. (all in good humor) Jaime, do whatever the hell you wanna do, bro. I'll still tease you regardless. (again, all in good fun)

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

Hahaha, I was expecting this. But, unlike Samson, I'm still as strong as ever. Trust me, by the end of 2007, Jaime Vendera will be a household name for all singers :)

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

He could have been a household name with locks of steel :(

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

Well, Jaime, I followed suit.

I cut off the hair.
I think I'm going to follow Jim's lead and start training for MMA while I'm at it.

We're talking REALLY short hair - like #2 clipper on the sides and back, about a #4 on top.

Sure, I look like an idiot, but it feels great, and right now that is the name of the game.

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

I feel just fine with my 1'8" locks of steel.

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

Dude, I cut off 1'8" and STILL have some hair;) And I can grow it back if I wanna in no time. In fact, it has grown over an inch since I cut it three weeks ago.

JV

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

But you are an older guy. Mine used to grow back way fast when I cut it. I need a trim to increase growth speed. I need it to bottom of my back.

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

Older guy! I oughta whip your Australian ass!!!! Haha just teasin. My hair has ALWAYS grown like weeds. The world is now ready for Jaime Vendera. They weren't ready for the hippie ;)

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

LOL. I knew that would get you man sorry :p

Yeh it's sad that people still aren't 100% accepting of guys with long hair. I ain't cutting mine for anything.

How long did it take to get to your length before?

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

I had it this short back in 99 and it grew back to my longest length in a about 18 months. i'm cool with it because I know what I stand for and I believe in the RYV method completely. It's not about the hair, or even the shattering glass, it's about saving people's voices!!!

Re: NOT JUST A METAL SITE

It's funny; it used to be that men had long hair, before the world wars. Now it's 'unacceptable'. HOGWASH.
