THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Tip for falsetto slide..

hi!

Falsetto slide is staying better everyday. when i first started i was straining a little at notes like
G and G#. Now, two week ago, i started going up to
high C in falsetto. (Take in mind that i stayed about
two months in A being the hightest note in falsetto)

isn't all that hard, but the larynx stay crazy and the
first thing - goes up. At first A was hard and with the time turned into a cool note. I know this straining started at A#.

A good thing is that the muscles under the chin dont
stay sore.. the unique problem is the larynx.. the
vocal path stays closed like you said in the book.

I am making the bullfrog exercise everyday, but just
started the tongue push ups two week ago. its
normal to feel some "muscle work" in the throat?

Any tip? Maybe a tip to increase the yawn sensation
or use the power push or maybe even use anoter
vowel

And there's a limit for falsetto? If has then at
some point you'll have to use just head voice??

Thanks!

Re: Tip for falsetto slide..

It's normal to get that tired feeling unbder the chin. As for other vowels, try what works for you. I picked "A" because it is the hardest. try and E or an Ooo sound. No new tips my friend, the book says it all, just keep working. You can carry your falsetto up to maybe a B or C in the Soprano range if you work at it, although, I only got up to an A maybe, the got A#, B, C and C# ifn full and the rest in whistle. Quit thinking head voice or fuill voice or falsetto, just do the exercises over and over and over again and it'll happen. Start mixing some scale work from the Members section in with your routine.
