THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

I used to know Jeff personally, yeah he is a great singer, who got nodes from over singing and pulling chest voice while doing the Boogie knights gig, he also doesn't know what he really is doing vocally if you talk to him technically about it. but obviously he is definitely a natural talent, I know he did do some voice lessons to help out his situation but you could hear the degradation in tone on his "Prism" album maybe he has reversed the damage but I don't know. Michael Sweet Mike Vescara or Rob Rock would be good too.

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

hi jaime, an interview with the loudness singer would be cool, his high notes are really full sounding, they dont sound high, found this video
'the end of earth' http://www.youtube.com/watchv=KHaT2bIRlIU
..is your book in bookstores?, i cant find it

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

Oh my god Jaime. I will help you out if you want with typing them out. I don't mind.

As long as we hear more interviews from Hard Rock and Metal greats. You need to interview Sebastian Bach, Tate, Dio and Halford. Those would be godly interviews!

If you would like help, I will give it a go for you dude. You know my email send away.

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

My computer just got screwed up, but luckily I backed up the interviews. Shoot me a privaste email and we'll get started as soon as we can.

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

Actually it might be a good Idea to build a team to actually keep things on a great conent for Jaime level thing....

These good metal-ish type vocal sites are usually severely rare....I'd like to see it grow and stay human as an artist an consumer....(some of the vocal sites are so rediculously priced wise that only established artists could afford them....and if anyone does the math and knows the business....theirs not a shite load of money runnign around to be able to afford things on a grand scale....its tough)
Example it cost me a 1000 dollar amp when all was said an done to grab the Brett manning course through a friend of mine.....that was painful...but worth the sacrifice....
I had to do graphic jobs out the ass for the melissa cross stuff....
*lol*....very very costly stuff...

Other problem is being faced with overwhelming amounts of being busy while still trying to communicate....
Building a comunnity of artists that pitch in would probably be a good idea....just a thought anyways, what do you think?

Re: Interview Suggestion: Jeff Scott Soto!

That's a fantastic idea. I have to be honest with everyone on this board. Although, I am an author, you can tell that this site is more focused on giving away free vocal advice. If we could build a team, I would support all of the team and develop a page to display bios of each memeber. We could even go as far as having other members do reviews of products, an dwe could work together so wheteher you are in Australia, Canada, Japan, or wherever, in time, through the development of our relationships, I'm sure I could learn to entrust one of my team members to take care of doing one on one in person interviews with other artists who are touring their area of the world. Thius would be a great way to help spread the word of other artists and vocal technique. So, Alex,Doug, Paul, etc... anyone who might be seriously interested, lets make this work!!!
