THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: I pursue to sing with the same technique and as high as this guy!

Apparently you know nothing about voice, because you are completely off track. And who would back me on this. Let's see? Jim Gillette from Nitro, Tony Harnell from TNT, James LaBrie from Dream Theater, Steve Augeri from Journey... Yes Miljenko is an amazing singer and I'm sure I was listening to him when you didn't have a clue who he was. I have regarded him as one of the best singers in the world for years. I do believe he is better than me by 10 fold, he's amazing. But, as far as my power. I can hit 120 decibles which is about 30 decibels louder than most opera singers. Mixed voice??? Don't use it, don't need it, I don't have a break. But there is nothing wrong with mixed and is used by a lot of pop singers and some metal singers. When I break glasses, it is a mixed tone or what you want to call head voice, because I cannot get the harmonics that I need to shatter a glass with straight out full voice-it's takes a certain timbre. And I'm referring to the myspace video where I hit 5 octaves and do some sliding screams. As far as knowing voice, I think considering the fact that I'm well respected by top rock stars, management companies, vocal coaches ( speaking of which, you should email Brett Manning and tell him what you said about my voice,I'm sure he'd love to hear your opinion, considering that his company is picking up my book and he has hired me as a guest speaker for one of his vocal seminars, recording engineers, have written several books and have been approached to do several other television shows and work with professional clients, gives me the right to tell you that if you want to learn how to do that type singing, then this guy with no mixed voice, power or tone, just might have the answers after all.

I know the steelheart singer better than all of you...I know the real secret behind his voice and now I will share it...He has no penis. Thats right he was born with a Mangina...which is a mans version of a vagina....Anyone who likes this singer must question his own sexuality...Cobb is the greatest!!!!!!!!

Re: I pursue to sing with the same technique and as high as this guy!

This is a fucking crazy discussion. There are diffrent voices. And Jaime lets you free it.I love mixing vioce but also train if i need harder singing in full vioce. Bullshit He is hardmixing that means that is sounds like chest but it is not. It is inposable to go that high in chest freedom is what it is about.

A "Mangina"? Bwahahaha

I've never heard of that one - and I have to say that's one of the funniest terms I've seen on the Net.

So, I am going to add it into my vocabulary as of this moment.
