THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Whistle Register

It's no gift and it can be learned by males as well as females. As far as I know (from reading RYV) falsetto and whistle voice is not the same thing. Whistle voice is created when the vocal cords are almost entirely zipped up leaving just a very tiny part of the cords to vibrate.
There's a part about whistle voice in Jamie's book that might help you out

Re: Whistle Register

If you own Raise Your Voice, then you have access to the Members section. On the Josh Morrison instructional clip, there is a segment where I hit 5 complete octaves, on 6 A's, going one octave above soprano A, with ease. That top note is whistle voice and I can actualy go higher. anyone can learn this technique. I have a section in RYV about whistle regiser. I am also embarrassed to say that i have about 10 new audio files to complete that are for the book, but have been swamped with other projects. I promise they will be done soon.
I am also getting ready to add a new free lesson from a vocal coach named Ronni Lederman, that discousses whistle voice:)

Peace,

JV

Re: Whistle Register

I have RYV, but I don't see any instructions on the whistle register. Is it in the revised version? Because if it is, I do not have it. I thought I've been everywhere in the members section, but I guess I will look again for the whistle register section. Are there instructions in the members section about the whistle register? Thanks

Re: Whistle Register

Dan, If you have the original RYV with the purple cover, it isn't in there. I tried to send everyone who bought the original version a copy of the new ebook. Email me and I'll take care of you with the new version.
