THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: eBook Audio file

Alkis,

My soundcard is down and I do not have high speed at this time. Please email me at venderaj@msn.com and I will give you the password and my address as well if you'd like to mail me a copy of you singing along with Priest.

Jaime

Re: eBook Audio file

That sounds like you could have had some pretty **** good screams in there. But you need to record it again that was horrible recording quality. Save it as a 128kbps MP# at least man cos that was unbearable quality.

Re: Re: eBook Audio file

The quality was unbearable 'cause it was recorded with my mobile phone. No format can save it... Will post another one as soon as I have one.

Re: Re: Re: eBook Audio file

I look forward to it, Ill dig the old Painkiller album out and have a listen so I can judge it better.

Re: Re: Re: Re: eBook Audio file

I've recorded Nightcrawler instead, which is closer to my natural range.

Never mind the cut-offs, my cable's on its way out.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: eBook Audio file

Thanks for singing such a ******* killer song man. I think you did a pretty good job. Your phrasing and vibrato was pretty decent throughout your high notes need a bit of work sounds like you didnt have full control. You got pretty close to halfords tone on them, Did it hurt your throat doing the growls, if not thats great.

I am sure Jaime will listen to.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: eBook Audio file

Hehe, no, this kind of short growls for emphasis doesn't really stress my voice at all, what does stress it is the fact that I subconsciously pull my larynx up to get that Halford tone, which also causes the lack of control. This is a "feature" I accidentally introduced in my singing 6 months ago... Gotta rectify it.
