THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: we miss you

Hey,
I miss everyone also. Tell everyone that it was my choice to leave, and not out of anger. I am just too busy to handle another site! I am soooo busy with interviews, my submission to Guinness World Records, rewriting RYV, and various new television appearances in the works! You can also tell everyone that we don't care if people doubt this system, because I know that it works!!!! I can name several rock stars that will back me up, and vocal coaches like Brett Manning who will attest to it's value. There is nothing wrong with studying classical or opera, if that is what you want to sing, but it simply WILL NOT work for a rock singer or pop singer, etc... Don't try to argue because you won't convince people who are not willing to change. That's all right though, because, they shouldn't have to change. There technique works for them, so leave it at that :) You can add this post to the Conservatory if you'd like :)

Peace,

Jaime Vendera

Re: Re: we miss you

Which singing site is this?, and Jaime if you have time could you explain briefly what the different approach is that is taken by Opera singers to get that very different sound. I hear it is hard for an opera singer to do a High C but I can hit that note easy, its just the notes in the break that are harder to hit. I heard an 18 year old boy at this conservatorium perfomance near where I live sing Nessun Dorma perfectly, it was breathtaking. Do you think it is possible to sing with an opera voice and also sing with a clear and powerful and large ranged rock voice?

Re: Re: Re: we miss you

I think it is http://www.eblah/singing.com. It's the Virtual Conservatory of singing. They contacted me to teach,b ut I was too busy to devote much time. Opera technique uses a lot of Bel Canto (barrel chested) singing, where you force the chest voice up and push the stomach out. That's why it is so loud and also so hard to sing past a Tenor C. This is how Jim Gillette was trained, then he combined some screaming techniques to develop his style.

Re: Re: Re: Re: we miss you

Well, Jim's tone isn't very opera like hehe. Thanks for explaining dude. I don't think this would be very good for rock because you wouldnt always want that kind of effect to be present.

Re: we miss you

Did you see lafa singing?
was very cool =)

Dont worry man. Like you said if someone dont
believe in this technique.. leave them with
that boring piano.. lol.

i think is a thing very cool specially the
falsetto into full voice.
