THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

Okay,
Help me out here, because my audio has been down and I can't hear him. What is the name of the band again? It is on the Highlander album? I'll order it tonight. Give me the addy again. I'm sorry, but I am soooo far behind on everything. I need to add TONS of vocalists to the voice connections page and I am busy putting together new updates and finishing RYV and my Guinness World Record package this week. If he hits a high Soprano D, I'll freak. The only other singer I've heard hit a D on record is Jim on Freight Train.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

I am pretty sure its a soprano high D Jaime. I like the tone better than Jim's too.

Also guys check out a few Australian metal bands with great singing and music. I feel that people need to hear these seeing as though I am Aussie :p

I'll try to check all this stuff out this weekend :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

How did you go with it all Jaime?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

I just ordered the Lost Horizon CDs. Haven't checked out the others yet, but you gave me an idea for a great contest that I will be posting about real soon :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

Cool man I eagerly await this. I am just about to finish my major high school exams soon so singing shall take a larger practice time.

Make sure you check out that lil clip I posted and also those bands I listed. Lord Tim (Timothy Grose) the singer/lead guitarist in Dungeon can hit Soprano High D in head voice too he even did it as a big choir on one of their songs called Tarranno Del Mar. Live I have heard him hit many notes ******* high, maybe not at that pitch but easily above the A below High C.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

Make sure to add these singers and sites to the list you'll be sending to venderaj@msn.com

Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

Holy Crap!!
I was singing along with "The Highlander" and I just hit the high note that he slides up to at 7:15 into the song!!

Jaime, Man - your exercises are working for me big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to thank you guys for turning me onto Lost Horizon - I'd never heard of them....well, not true -I'd seen pictures of them and thought they would be some goofy Euro band - how wrong could I be?!?!

I love this CD, and Daniel Hieman has given me a vocal target to shoot for.

I just got off the phone with my bass player (he lives in Virgina) and we are laying the groundwork to rebuild our band - except this time I'm going to be the lead singer, rather than the drummer. We always lacked a singer who could sing our material like we wanted it done, and whenever we would find somebody, they would bail on us - so we're going to start from scratch. Now I've got to go hit the gym, because I've got some working out to do!

Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

I've heard plenty of men hit that note on recording. That was still nice though.

Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

Ever heard any men hit the A, 7 notesa above that D, like I did on my Myspace video? Haha.

Re: Jaime Do You Know Who Daniel Heiman Is

I'm sure tons of men can hit that note, my point was - *I* was unable to prior to using the Raise Your Voice exercises. Keep in mind, that for half my life - my range has been in the Danzig/Morrison/Elvis Presley range. So to me - it is a big deal to be able to hit that.

So, thanks again Jaime!
