THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Also...

Both of my books are already out, but the revised edition should be out by November. This new edition covers so much material I don't even know where to start. Yes, the new book does cover aspects of creating a more masculine head tone and mixed tone, as well as tips for incresing volume, shattering glass, screaming your brains out without hurting your throat. Ha-ha. I thought that sounded funny, but i was serious. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. There is now a multitude of rock stars that have read my book. I do want to say, although I personally sing rock, this book applies to EVERYONE!!!! I have vocal students who sing other styles, like country and pop. Technique is technique :)

Re: Re: Also...

Ah I see. Rock ain't my style anyways so yeah. But ok, I 'll guess I'll wait out for your book (the last one). I'm only interested in POP singing and Ballad singing hehe :D I guess it doesn't hurt to do soft rock time to time but yeah haha.

Not aiming for shattering glass too, I think that's more of finding the resonance of the glass and just belting a note of so strong that it would shatter the glass on it's resonance.
I'm more for timbre sounds and yeh hehe.

Do forgive me if I sound harsh though lol, I know you love to shatter glass. I know it takes alot of work and power to do such a thing so major props to you matey.

Re: Re: Re: Also...

You don't sound harsh :) It's just a freakish gift I have. Ha-ha. Seriously though, most of my students sing pop, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's what I first started singing in the 80's/ Like I said, technique is technique.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Also...

i want to shatter glass hahaha.
but that isn't actually my personal goal... but in the future it might be??? who knows.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Also...

Lol, Jaime. 80s pop is a bit different to the pop of today. Pop today blows big time.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Also...

Yes, I must agree :)

Re: Regarding your book(s):
