THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: A strange coincidence

Thanks for asking Tim!
A quite a few years back I was playing a lot of World of Warcraft and wanted a way for everyone to recognize me when leveling up a lower level character.
The original name I had chosen was grue from the classic computer game Zork which is available as freeware now.

"It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

> what is a grue?

The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale."

So this lead to gruemungus the warrior, gruemanticus the mage, gruenugent the hunter and gruetilda the rogue.

Re: A strange coincidence

Hey Grue, if we met in Hollywood, please email me at jaime@jaimevendera.com. Let's catch up:)

HAHAHAHA!!! I was an INFOCOM kid myself. I loved those games. We played them on an Atari 800XL. All through my teenaged years, friends of mine and I would get together on the weekend, and work on it. We had tons of graph paper making maps and all of that. Man, we were geeky metal heads. There would be 5 or 6 of us in the home studio at my parents house, cranking out metal records all night and playing these games on the weekends. I totally missed out on the D&D thing, though.... they were like... low-tech nerds to us.
