THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Queen of the ryche cover http://soundcloud.com/renehinojosa/130529_0014-wav just looking for some thoughts opinions/advice to help get better. Thanks.

Re: queensryche cover

Cool! Sounds really good. If I'd make any suggestions it would be to push down a little more for more support on those words like "night" in the verses so you land directly in the middle of the note;)

Re: queensryche cover

Thank you for the help. Those were the words i noticed in the verse that I didnt like how they sounded but didnt know how to correct it. By saying push down a little more do you mean power push sensation?? Thanks.

Re: queensryche cover

I don't have any suggestions other than to say keep up the good work. I was really impressed with your range on the QR song but it was the Crimson Glory cover that really blew me away.

Re: queensryche cover

Thanks for the compliment. I have another crimson glory cover of a song called mayday.if your a fan of them I can post it.That one has some crazy vocals to. Midnight was a awesome singer.

Re: queensryche cover

For sure keep posting. I think your voice is more like Midnight than Tate. I've heard a few people who could sing the line "bloody red sharks" in the Crimson Glory song "Red Sharks" but only a few. lol. I think you are probably one of those people who could do it. Have you always been able to sing high like that?

Re: queensryche cover

Ya ive always been able to hit the really high notes since I first started singing 9 yrs ago. thats how I knew I might be able to put down the guitar and sing for the band. But as far as the mid range stuff went I was nasally for a long time. That took time to fix. What was screwing me up was the term head voice. Once I thought of it all as one full voice it fixed everything. Ill post mayday soon. Gotta export it out of recording machine.
