THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Routine

Hi all,

I just purchased the RYV2 ebook last night and have read through 90% of it - great read!

I have tried a few other program (pillars, SS, Bristow) but never really got much out of them, even with Skype lessons. I was told to pull back on the air without being told "how" to pull back on the air, for example.

Last night, I tried a couple of things from the book and I was able, for the very first time ever, to get into a head voice without falsetto breathiness. Needless to say I was extremely shocked and pleased, so much so, that I woke up early today to continue reading and practicing - afraid that I may lose my recently found voice :)

Anyway, maybe I missed it in the book, but I have read some posts here about a 7 week training program. Is there a specific routine that I should be following? Should I do the falsetto slides, hum's, etc as a warmup and then move on to something else? What is the best way to go through the mp3 exercises so I get the best training I can? Do I just do them in order?

Sorry for all the questions, but I really think this program might be the one for me, and I want to take full advantage of any experience people have had with a training regiment for RYV2.

Thanks again!!

Re: Routine

Sorry for the above post. I found the routine!

Thanks again Jaime for a great program!

Re: Routine

I'm assuming you mean you have RYV 2nd edition, the 400 page book with black cover. Some people are getting confused with my new RYV2 with the white cover, which is a different book:) Yes, follow the 7-week program in the book:)
