THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Full Blown Laryngitis - how I hate thee!

godspeed Tim. I am also a chronic sinusitis sufferer.

Get well soon,
-Dave

Re: Full Blown Laryngitis - how I hate thee!

Thanks Dave! Sinusitis stinks. It's gets me every once in a while, and the thing that sucks about living in Northeast Florida is that in the wintertime, it will get really cool at night, but then be almost hot during the daytime. So that flipping back and forth between the two extremes just makes it worse.

I still have laryngitis.

I went to CVS about an 90 minutes ago and talked to the pharmacist and she told me that what I have is VIRAL and it is going around, so she suggested I get Maximum Strength Mucinex so I can bring this out of me, so that is what i got - essentially it feels like there is a big knot sitting below my vocal cords. I'm thinking about heading out to Walmart and getting some chicken bouillon cubes, 7-up, and saltines so I can make some broth to drink. I've had so much tea that I'm sick of drinking it, but I want something hot to drink.

So tonight, I'm just kicking back, and relaxing.

I don't really feel bad. I've just got laryngitis, and luckily I never had a "strep throat" phase or pharyngitis this time around.

Tim, what is this viral thing going around? I live in South Florida, and I've been coughing my lungs out for the last two days! My sinuses have been congested too.

I hope you don't have any gigs coming up?!

Re: Full Blown Laryngitis - how I hate thee!

Tell me about it, I have allergic laryngitis every year from 3rd to 6th month... it's really really annoying, beacause my voice gets worse after each one of them, my muscles weaken, I also had a temporary nodule caused by a really small amount of singing, and some speaking during the allergy, I really need to find a way out :/
