THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

israel someone?

I am 15 and from Israel.
thought about finding myself a teacher but i am **** frightened about ending up with a typical "classical closed-minded teacher".
I sing in an alternative band so not much range is required, but i would like to be able to "go soundgarden" sometime.. (love chris cornell)
+ If i could sing queen my mom will worship me.. :P
(and maybe some guns N' roses AC/DC and iron maiden for me and the friends ;)

(boy I hope there is someone from israel here)
got help?

Re: israel someone?

Well I say go ahead and get the training now...your young HURRRRRRRRY...the earlier you start the better. If your gonna be singing that kinda music, you wanna make sure your vocal folds have good habits. The teacher can only tell you how to use your voice properly because no matter what you sing no matter how loud and wild...you still need to use the vocal folds properly. No voice teacher is allowed to tell you what type of music you can sing. Just do the lessons, practice at home and then starting singing whatever you'd like. And use Raise your Voice as guide along the way. Nothing will ever compare to an actually voice teacher!!

Re: israel someone?

Get busy with RYV, listen to all the audio files, watch all the videos and practice like crazy. If you need a teacher to help, I actually teach online via SKYPE and webcam and have students all over the world.

Re: israel someone?

you are right, maybe i should have waited with that post until i get deeper in the program...

Re: israel someone?

It's okay, I've done that a few times too. The people are this forum are cool though...they'll answer your questions anyway, and let you realize how silly you were later

I gotta admit though, it is nice to have the actually author of the book hang around to answer questions, that way no confusion is tolerated. Jaime keeps it real...he answers myspace questions, take phone calls, and emails, and the forums, and does lessons online and in person...this is the real deal...you won't find this ANYWHERE!!!!
