THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Well, when I run each morning, I have the following...not that I get through all of it, hahaha, well I get through my exercises;)

1.Vocal Mindset
2.VAM 15 minute wamrup
3.Isolation exercises through Soprano A
4.Jim GIllette's Vocal Power
5. Seminar songs-
A. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You-Zep
B. Immigrant Song-Zep
C. Stand Up And Shout-Steel Dragon
D. Blood Pollution-Steel Dragon
E. Sheila-Steelheart

Then I have a few new CDs

6.New Disturbed-Freaking ROCKS-Draiman's voice is getting even better...I better interview him soon;)
7.New Journey with Pineda-He sounds good but the sound quality is lacking.
8.New Journey remakes with Pineda-He still sounds good but the musical quality sounds pretty bad as if it were rushed and ended up kind of muffled.
9. Virus IV-Dark Sun- Mag's new release. Thanx Mag I just got it in the mail. It freakin rocks!!! ANd I am mentioned on the CD:)

So this is to motivate you. Throw your exercise stuff on a CD or MP3 player, listen to some new music, exercise and get busy!!!

Re: Guess what is in my MP3 player???

Do you sing to the exercises or just listen to them?
I should run every morning since school gets out this Wed., need to lose some poundage haha.

Disturbed's singer is pretty **** good. I saw that they came out with a new cd in guitar world. I like the music, but the lyrics are quite cheesy at times haha. Course, I listen to "The Dark eternal Night" by Dream Theater, cheesiest song '08

Re: Guess what is in my MP3 player???

I sing along...I keep it focused and controlled at a lower volume.

Re: Guess what is in my MP3 player???

YAY! Journey rocks! They're my favorite band ever. And hopefully if I stick to the methods and exercizes in RYV 2nd edition, I'll have the range and power as Steve Perry, but with my own unique tone.

Re: Guess what is in my MP3 player???

Seems hard to sing while running. Although i'm sure when it comes to jumping around in shows, your set haha.

Re: Guess what is in my MP3 player???

It's not easy, it is kickin my butt;) But it is a great way to build your stamina.
