THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Jaime in a band

Jaime do you have any of the songs where you are on the mic in this band?

Re: Jaime in a band

Great sounding band! I like the Creed cover too.

Re: Jaime in a band

I'm not sure if it's our Jaime... He's not on any of the pictures...

Re: Jaime in a band

Actually, he is. On the official website, Jaime's on keyboards.

Re: Jaime in a band

I'll try to dig some stuff up. Actually that is the band that is is pictured in RYV II.What it was, is I had just had major neck surgery and bascially was afraid I mightlose my voice because of the procedure. So these were friends of mine who let me play with them indefinitely. I had a REALLY hard time because of my neck. If it tensed up, I was screwed, couldn't sing in key to save my life and ended up with terrible headaches at the end of the night where I'd over shoot my voice . And I was pushing it all too, ACDC, ZEP, PRIEST JOURNEY and a lot of new bands. Anyways, the good news is that was when I developed the Vocal Stress Release program. I finally had it layed out correctly by the last two gigs, and those 2 gigs were incredible. My voice was focused and everything was floating again;) So, I hurried up and put VSR in the book, released it first as an ebook, parted ways with my friends to get back to pursuing teaching and the next thing I know, I am on GMA shattering glass;) Don't worry friends, I will be doing my next seminar in St. Louis on the 8th and 9th and I will be singing some Zep for the show;)...We'll video tape.

Re: Jaime in a band

Yeah, I also wasn't sure if it were you because you do sound like you're restraining yourself and that surprised me. It must be quite old then. It'd be nice to hear something current

Re: Jaime in a band

Thats not me singing. That was Joe.

Re: Jaime in a band

Thanks for clearing that up. I actually didn't think it sounded quite like you but since I haven't actually heard you sing, I was afraid to say that!!

Re: Jaime in a band

Joe is a good singer. He is very solid and capable in what he does. He is very good at singing stuff like Bob Segar. He's one of these guys who loves to play, never had an vocal instruction and just does what he does;)

Re: Jaime in a band

OH he is, I didn't mean it in a bad way! I meant the singing voice sounded very different from what I imagined from hearing your speaking voice; that's all!
