THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

HAve any of you come across Singing Success Online

Hello guys,
I was wondering if any of you have come across singing success online (http://www.singingsuccessonline.com). I was wondering if it's worth those $200. Jaime can you please comment on this.

Jaime did a big review on the program. You can find it here under "REVIEWS" / "REVIEWS OF OTHER BOOKS AND MEDIA":

It's one of the programs I looked at before deciding to go with the JV method. It looks cool and probably worthwhile, but cost was an issue for me at the time.

Stan,

Singing Success online is more about the downloadable videos. Brett actually called me last week and said to look at it. There I was, hahaha. He's been on me to do a few video lessons for him on breathing and support, so I promised him I'd take care of it shortly;)

Re: HAve any of you come across Singing Success Online

it seems like a great deal. Right off the bat you get 5 45+ minute videos and more each week. You can sign up for only 35$/month if you don't want to do the whole year. I went ahead and did it. Looks like it will be pretty cool.

Plz review it here. It's a little taxing on my student funds atm. But if it is really good, I will absolutely have to purchase it. If it's not that different from Singing Success than I can wait till summer when I have loads more money... hahaha

Well I watched all the videos, and what can I say, it's great. An excellent followup to the singing sucess course.
You get to see brett giving one on one lessons to different students from intermediate to advanced(but they're working on putting out some with beginners too. The topics so far include getting a better "mix voice". This one was part lesson, part interview with one of the staff members from his studio. This guy has a really great full sounding head voice, and he talks in detail about how he get's into it and fills it out from falsetto.
In another video he works with a female country singer helping her get her registers blended and connected. He runs her through a lot of exercises to help with that, some of which are variations of what's on the course, and some are totally new. I'm going to watch that one again tonight and work with it.
There's a great one where he works with a gospel singer who's having trouble with allergies and sinus stuff, and he runs him through some exercises to clear things up, and get his voice warmed up. At the end of the lesson the student belts out an amazing version of Joyful Joyful, and you wonder why he's still comming for lessons! LOL
Finally there are a couple of shorter videos where he helps a female pop star work on a song, and works with a male student on whistle register.

Overall I'm really happy I signed up, and think I'm definitely getting my moneys worth so far. New videos are posted weekly, and occasionally they throw up some bonus videos between the regular weekly ones. There is a forum too where you can request that certain topics be covered in future videos.

If you like bretts teaching style and are familiar with his singing success course, then I'm sure you'll be happy with this. Also Jaime is listed as one of the coaches, so hopefully he'll be featured frequently on there! ;-)

Cheers, and happy new year!

Tim
