Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

How's james Lugo's DVD

Hello everyone
In the bonus section of ryv2 I saw a promo for James Lugo's dvd: The Rock & Pop
Vocal Instructional Series! http://www.jameslugo.com/order.shtml
And I was wondering how it was. Is it good? Is it a good complement to ryv? What's in the dvd and CD? Is it worth the purchase?...
You see actually i'm hesitating between buying lugo's dvd, "the four pillars of screaming" and "can you sing a high C". Please help me choose wisely.

I got James Lugo's DVD for xmas. I haven't finished it - watched up to the screaming section. It was definitely worth the money. So far, it is exactly what I need for my voice at my level - that is, that I've learned and put into practice a fair amount of knowledge, but now I really need to push my voice.

I own RYV 1+2, Vocal Release, and Singing Success.

I haven't tried Thomas Appell's book or the four pillars of screaming.

I have Thomas Apell's book and honestly, it was tough to understand. Alot of mention is made on adducting the cords at a tension of 4 as opposed to a tension of 6... That wasn't easy to relate to.

I got the DVD.

It is simply awesome... Really great exercices, a little hard for the voice, but really what rock singers need. Only full voice program. And Mr Lugo is a really "charismatic" person.

I actually want to get the DVD. But the only ways I can find is sending an email with my credit card info on it, not something I'd really like to do. So I'm wondering whoever else bought the dvd how they went about it?

My dad bought it for me through Paypal. I recall it being confusing at first because there was no paypal link provided, but that is indeed how he purchased it.
