THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

C5

Hey my full voice range is F2 to G4 so i guess im a baritone. But this is not good enough for me , i want to be able to hit C5 atleast. Ive been doing falsetto slide for a while now but it doesnt seem to be increasing my range...and according to ryv , falsetto slide is supposed to increase range

Re: C5

Hi, I'm a bass and I can hit C17, haha just teasing. You might consider doing some lessons with me. You shouls also be doing all three exercises because they work together to increase your range. You should also be keeping a daily diary.

Re: C5

Im a baritone but ive learned to hit a C5 in full voice. The falsetto mechanism is important for hitting those high head voice notes so keep working on it...
If you are not in the head voice register properly you wont be able to get there, and head voice is a tricky feeling to get hold of... you are probably pulling chest when you get stuck on that G4.

Re: C5

Hey.. my vocal range just went up by two notes recently so i can hit B4 , but its weak so im working on it !!! Im really positive now that one day i'll hit C5..

But I have another question, how do i sing with a sharper and clearer tone?

Re: C5

Keep the resonances focused forward above your nose, push down you chin to allow your larynx to tilt and pull the cords fully and don`t let the tongue fall in the back of your throat (try to get the .U. shape in the back).

Re: C5

I agree with what O. said, but let me just put a warning that when she says to push on your chin she does not mean push hard!!! :D She just means to push lightly on it to keep it from jutting forward, and to help the mechanism align. In time, you wont need to keep a hand on the chin.

Re: C5

Lee is it ok if i add you to msn to? think youve got a great voice and would love to talk vocals with you / Jens

Re: C5

Yeh sure, of course
Talk to you later

Re: C5
