THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

singingsuccess

anyone here uses singingsuccess together with jaime's RYVII?? well since my RYVII hasn't arrived yet...and my singingsuccess did, so i started listening to his words...i think his words does cost about $200 or maybe more...everyone buy it...we still ahve discount dont we?

Re: singingsuccess

i have it. i guess it made me have a smooth singing voice which is fine for other styles but i wanted a bigger grittier sound. so far i like jaime's along side jim gillette's the best

Re: singingsuccess

I used Singing Success; discovered that it's not well suited for metal singing. It's probably a better place to start out than raise your voice. If you're having trouble accessing your head voice, singing success is probably a better place. Then you have to move on, if you want to sing metal that is. It doesn't have much info on breathing and support, and doesn't teach you power and full resonance. So here you go. Just my view on the matter.

Re: singingsuccess

i gotta say the thing that helped me the most for accessing my head voice was the transcending tone exercise. that exercise rocks!!!

Re: singingsuccess

Each individual is different. What works for me doesn't mean that it will work for you. All I know that transcending tone for me was impossible for me before singing success. Now, it's fine. If you have time, and you're not as lazy as me you could work on both. I'm too lazy to do that, and I don't have that much time anyways. With full university schedule, part-time job, doing some pitch training, and singing practices, I don't have a heck of a lot of time to do both of those. If you have to choose those, I would suggest to stick with "Raise your Voice" if metal is what you wanna sing, or if you wanna reach the full potential of your voice.

Re: singingsuccess

Hi,
I owned it as well and I agree wit the other posts.
It`s very good for pop and country, but less specific for rock, hardrock..
I had my benefits from it, it`s a lot scales etc.
For people who are not willing to get too deep into theory it`s good.
Haven`t received my RYV II yet, so I haven`t checked the new audio files. But I think with this new version AND with all the audio files this is the one with the completest stuff you can get.
I`m very lookin` forward to that screamin` stuff cause any program which promised to have this featured doesn`t have it incl. in fact..
