THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Raise Your Voice study group

I am considering starting a study group for RYV readers starting at the beginning of 08. Any thoughts? We could go through the book from beginning to end, share our thought week to week. This would be led by all of you and I will be there with you asd much as possible. I'd like to also see my readers take notes and let me know of any errors or typos as we go through the book. I've already found two in Chapter 1. I will make a list and mid-08 I'll update and fix the typos;) Above all, we could take this like a colloege course and do one chapter per week.

Re: Raise Your Voice study group

Count me in Jaime. I'm already excited. Hehe... just let me know when you want it to be so I can arrange my university schedule, so that it will not interfere with "Raise your Voice" lectures. Otherwise, I might have to skip some classes here and there. Oh well, most of the profs in the classes I have are booooring as hell. I keep falling asleep all the time in some of those lectures anyways. Still would be nice not to miss the lectures. That means I want to know "Raise Your Voice" sessions schedule by the end of December.

Re: Raise Your Voice study group

Fantastic idea, Jaime.

Even though I'm not new to the program, I'd love to go through it with everyone else. I, too, noticed one or two typos, but that really doesn't matter. The book is awesome! I love the little personal anecdotes you added. The audio clips are great too.

I'm sure this book will reach a great deal of people.

(still don't agree with you on the falsetto/head voice thing, but that's just me :P)

Re: Raise Your Voice study group

That's a great idea... I will have to see if I have time than...

Re: Raise Your Voice study group

Count Wylde in. I can even help out with hosting some stuff if you need to.

Re: Raise Your Voice study group

Hahaha Legato man, always some nay sayers;) Bottom line, you don't have to believe me to make the system work;) We will be starting in early January and meet one night a week at a certain time. Each person will be required to read the chapter the week before so they are prepared. I will then post a list of questions for weach individual to answer. The more answers posted, the better we will all learn from the experience. We'll title each post such as RYV study Part X Chaper X and build during te progressing weeks. All typos you find please note in the messages and we'll have them fixed before the end of 2008. I'll see about setting up some of chat link as well. If anyone has any ideas for a chat service to use, please let me know.
