THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

falsetto eees

during the falsetto eees on the bottom of the ranges i find it hard to swell the falsetto without flipping into chest voice. as i go farther up it gets much easier and i dont flip. is this supposed to be normal? anyone else notice this happening to them?

also im getting what i feel are pretty good results. this vocal system works fast

Re: falsetto eees

That's probably because you are using the "dampening" or "zipping" coordination below C5

Re: falsetto eees

Yeah it's tough to do at the bottom because you get closer to full voice. Another cool exercise from RYV II is to start up high on a falsetto Eeee, then slide down to anote in your comfortable full voice range into an open "AH". Kinda like a cowboy goig Eeeeahhh.

Re: falsetto eees

As you go down your range and you feel your larynx widen, concentrate on keeping the focus of your voice very high between your eyes. When I do it, I feel like the vibrations float at the top of my head. It's a very pleasant feeling. If I don't purposely think about keeping the focus between my eyes like I just mentioned, I automatically go right into chest voice also.

Re: falsetto eees

You can also bend forward and sing like that to place your focus high. Than stand up and keep your voice in the same spot without moving you larynx.

Re: falsetto eees

hmm ill have to try that one

Re: falsetto eees

Jaime

It doesn't help to start high on eee and then go down- if you maintain the "zipping", "dampening" coordination! Because above C6 the "zipping" coordination is necessarily to reach those notes!

Re: falsetto eees

Sorry I ment C5!!!!!!!!!!
