THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

instructional video

Jaime - i dont know whether someone else has asked already, but what i would really love is an instructional video (or series of videos) much like the ones of you teaching a student, but instead, with the camera facing you so we can see your technique as you go sing the exercises. it would be like you are giving us a virtual lesson. there could be pauses where you give tips on keeping relaxed etc and would at the same time keep the pace of the lesson moving right along through you warmup and into the 3 main sections (falsetto, transcending tone, and siren). i would definitely pay for a video like that or series of videos. it would be cool to SEE how you do grit and to be able to see where your tongue and larnyx rests as you move up the scale. i use your videos for practicing anyway, but because a student asks a lot of questions (as i would too), there are not quite as much time singing as i would prefer.... i use your instructional videos for practicing because if feels like a lesson instead of a bunch of exercises... anyhow, just an idea.

Re: instructional video

I heard that he was asked by Doug Marks to make a sequel to Jim Gillettes Vocal Power. that would probably be the closest to what you are talking about. i really hope he does it too. ill buy that first day its available

Re: instructional video

I'd love that more than anything. That's what I liked about Brett Manning's program...He's there to keep you motivated through the exercises. A virtual Jaime would be awesome too.

Re: instructional video

sure it would be very nice nd helpfull. I think more than the "Zen of screaming" thing

Hey jaime, now that you'll sell millions of your RIVII would you make us proud with a DVD. and a special section for me "The sing ing of Glenn Hughes all revealed"

Re: instructional video

Re: instructional video

Hahaha, these are things that are all in the works. It's just that the release of the new RYV comprised of a three book methid system-RYV II, Ultimate Breathing Workout revised edition and The Ultimate Vocal Workout Diary, as well as my 4th book with Tony Harnell and the digital software for singers-The Vendera Digital Vocal Coach, has kept me fairly busy;)

Re: instructional video

Re: instructional video

Ho my god!!! You mean the REAL Tony Harnell???

When do you realease that thing Jaime??????

Lol, you're a really busy man, that's true.

Re: instructional video

The Vendera Digital Vocal Coach is a software program in development for singers with the company Singing Elexctrons/Blaze Audio. Yes I mean the REAL Tony Harnell. I went and atayed with him for a week back in MArch to write a book we've been working on. I cannot legally tell you the name or what it is about by I GUARANTEE there is NO other vocal book like it, even Raise Your Voice! It is a totally different element;)
