THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

Hello here is falsetto slide I started with MA not just AH. I don't know why but it was more easy to do it starting with MA-guess it's all in my mind

As you can here I'm still terribly breaking in chest but is it correct falsetto? Is that air free falsetto that Jaime asked to do in falseto slide exercise?
For a very long time I thought that this is my light mix according to sls because I can make another falsetto with more air, it's not the same only with more air, it's kind a different feeling. Anyway if this is falsetto Jaime asks, I'm really happy.

Any tips?

Re: My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

I would call that a lightmix or some type of reinforced falsetto... In SLS or Singing Success that is what he calls headvoice, wich can be with training turned into a more fullvoicedtone. Im no expert though so await someone more experienced's answear..

Re: My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

A light mix- that's nice! Is it 2 or 3 in your scale Jaime or maybe I can hope for 4?

Is it the one needed for falsetto slide exercise?

Re: My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

You started in the correct voice needed for the Falsetto Slide, perhaps even a little more resonant than actually necessary. There was no breathiness, and the slide seemed very smooth. So, congratulations for that!

"because I can make another falsetto with more air, it's not the same only with more air, it's kind a different feeling."

This is where Jaime and I disagree. I think the falsetto with the "different feeling" is something completely different from the voice you demonstrated in the clip and cannot be used in the Falsetto Slide.

Re: My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

Honestly, I never managed to do decent falsetto slide by falsetto with the "different feeling". So, maybe I should agree with you on this.

Re: My audio- falsetto slide HELP Brandon, Jaime anyone

Sounded good, about a 2 or 3.
