THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Very specific ryv question...

HI.... yes ... its is so specific that I think I should not comment it on the forum just openly, so I want to ask Brandon or Jaime if it is appropiate to mail it to you???

Thx!

Re: Very specific ryv question...

As long as no one takes advantage of this (and I trust you all, by the way) any of you all are free to e-mail me at brandonselvey@yahoo.com OR at www.myspace.com/amusiavirtuoso.

So X, ask away my friend, and if it turns out that it's something that DOES need to be addressed on this board, I'll let you know, and then I might have you ask me said question on here so that everyone can be informed.

Re: Very specific ryv question...

Meanwhile, the rest of us will just try to contain our curiosity... lol!

Re: Very specific ryv question...

Yeah, I know it kinda seems like that, but I promise I'm not trying to make anyone feel "out of the loop."

But when Jaime offered me this position, he asked me to keep the amount of direct info from RYV kind of limited, and I have to respect his wishes. Due to the fact that ANYONE can come onto this forum, he wants those who have not yet purchased RYV to do so.

So I promise I'll review Xavier's question, and if I feel that everyone should know, I'll have him "re-ask" it on our forum so that everyone can see the answer.

And also, keep in mind that ANYONE who has a question that they feel might be too "revealing" of RYV info, please feel free to e-mail me in private on either of the 2 accounts I've listed in recent posts. Thanx for your patience, guys!

Re: Very specific ryv question...

What we will try to do is start keeping a record of RYV questions and answers and add them to the Members section. So any questions geared towards explaining some confusion about the techniques are openly welcome. If it is more of a lesson tyoe question that you require, Brandon and I are both available for private lessons.

Re: Very specific ryv question...

Thanks Brandon & Jamie,
Understood, I was just kidding and hoped to raise a smile or two.
The idea of a FAQ section in the members area sounds great.
I'm sure many of us run into the same or similar things whilst we're working away at RYV.
BTW, I did my first gig tonight after starting on the program and, despite the disclaimer about "this is not a quick fix" method, it's certainly a VERY effective fix for my particular short-comings. I've been working away for 5 days on the basic steps, doing the drills and exercises as described twice a day. My voice has cleaned up and smoothed out remarkably and I'm cleanly hitting a bunch of notes that formerly had me straining fit to bust. There's still a long way to go but I couldn't be happier with the results thus far.
Thanks again! All the best, Dave.

Re: Very specific ryv question...

dogears, I knew you were kidding, but the joke reminded me that someone could potentially take it that way for real, so I just wanted to put up that little "disclaimer."

And I'm also glad to hear your gig went well. And fi you're improving that quickly, just wait until you've been doing this cycle for a couple of months!
