THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

middle-aged newbie

Hey Jaime,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm feeling VERY pleased with myself for purchasing RYV!
Man, I've been struggling for ages (and I'm a full-time singer) with the break in my voice getting "wider" ie: whereas I used to crack on an F, the crack expanded and I was losing it on 3 or 4 notes! Too many bad habits, raised larynx, pushing too much air, lax breathing etc.
Now, on just my first day of running thru the vocal stress release routine a few times, I'm finding my voice coming back, cleaner and better than ever!
I'll let you know how I go as I progress thru the program you've laid out but for now I just wanted to thank you again for the rescue! Cheers, Dave.

Re: middle-aged newbie

It's never too late to start all over again. Jaime's book will help you much. Enjoy the learning!

Re: middle-aged newbie

And welcome aboard, friend. Please feel free to share any advice, problems, and progress you have. We're here for you.

Re: middle-aged newbie

You are the reason I love teaching so much:) Thank you for your kind words.

Jaime Vendera

PS- Brandon and Oiselle are always here to help in case I am not on the board.

Re: middle-aged newbie

Thanks All, I appreciate the welcome. It's early days yet but so far, so good. I'll keep you posted on my progress, right now I'm just concentrating on the basics, re-training my breathing and getting rid of some of those bad habits I mentioned, stay tuned!
