THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

I'll do IT now!

Hey guys I think that's my time to start learning power push.
1.Should I buy Jaime's other book about breathing?

2. I tense many different muscles while I'm in toilet; so I don't really understand that concept. And since I'm men there is problems with ''baby concept'' too. I understood push down, also saw one of his video with Spencer. There he said to lock muscles down in lowest part of belly... And that's it.

3. Is there any other visualizations or things that I should feel? Any personal experience?

4.Oh let me guess let's wait Jaime's RYV II, well I'm waiting already, but I would like to start som pushing down right now

Re: I'll do IT now!

The idea is to keep your rib cage and diaphragm expanded. You can also achieve it by pretending to blow out candles on a birthday cake. Don't contract your abdomal muscles in; let everything push outward and downward at the same time. Imagine that there is a balloon at the bottom of your rib cage or behind your belly buttom and that it is being filled up with air as you push to the air out to blow out the candles.

Re: I'll do IT now!

Hey man I would like to contact you! But here is no PM option. Are you in VSC or myspace.com?

Re: I'll do IT now!

Try to focus on the "tighten the lower stomach muscles while pushing them OUT and DOWN" idea.

Re: I'll do IT now!

I'm not in VSC and I don't have Myspace but you can keep posting your questions here! I come often

Re: I'll do IT now!

Hey abe, I'm gonna give you a quick and easy exercise to help you understand the sensation.

I want you to softly hiss. ("ssssss")

Then, build the hiss in volume as loud as you can. This will naturally push your abs into the correct position. After you get used to this feeling, you'll be able to do this on command without hissing.

If this still doesn't help you out, contact me at brandonselvey@yahoo.com OR myspace.com/amusiavirtuoso.
