THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Jaime help me please

I've been trying to do some falsetto exercises now for a very long time but last 3 monthes I have only relaxed mix. I have been using Bratts programm too so I already knew about lip bubble, nay nay nay, mom and gug exercises when i got you're RYV. But there you makes us to do a lot of falsetto work to devolope full resonance at the end. I was quiet hard-working so after now it's not rare that i can vocalize with mum till even tenor high C#. Since I started with Bratts programm I'm still using very light mix thought I wouldn't say that it's falsetto. Anyway my falsetto how ever isn't doing that well. It's kind a hard to sing in falsetto and do falsetto slides. Before i started to use any book I had nice falsetto though I was not sure about my techinque. My question is how it's really possible that it's more easy to use light mix than falsetto. Falsetto is lighter production, right? My case looks bit dump. Plus I have heard from few other singers when they said that their head voice has swallowed their falsetto and that it's hard for them to use it anymore, that they use soft head rather then falsetto. And that they regain falsetto only when sick. Is it possible? But it sounds stupid though something strange has happend with my own falsetto.

Re: Jaime help me please

Thse singers are goofy. Don't lidten to them. In fact, quit overanalyzing it all; that is where you are messing up. Here's what I want you to do., Forget the term falsetto. From now on, on the falsetto slides, I want you to just concentrate on doing them as quiet and pure as possible. Think of them as "tiny" slides, meaning the sound is very tiny and not breathy at all; like a fly singing. stay with that for now.
