THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

EEEEEEE

Why would my larynx rise on an f# below tenor c when the previous note before it is a g# in the song I am singing and it isnt raised on that note???? The back of my tongue is low on g#4 then it raises way up and I get real throaty sounding on f#4. Is it because the word is "be" which is a eeeee sound or should that matter?????? How do I keep it down for short term??? I am assuming that once I master the Bullfrog my larynx will not rise as much but that doesnt help me right now..... Any thoughts would be appreciated

Re: EEEEEEE

The E vowel can cause this sort of trouble;)

Re: EEEEEEE

I am excited that I can hit the G# below tenor c in full voice though. I am up to C#5 in full voice on exercises which may not be stunning yet for all the singing gurus(sp?)on here but I am pretty excited at how far your exercises have brought me. My biggest thing now for the short term is improving on tonality and getting rid of the throatiness on some of the vowels.

Re: EEEEEEE

It sounds like you are doing great. I prefer quality in notes over quantity.

Re: EEEEEEE

Once you slow down and have time and I do a little better in this crappy Real Estate market - I want
to either do a phone lesson or something with you!!!
That way you can tell me if I suck or not hehehehe

Re: EEEEEEE

lip bubbles and bullfrogs!500, per hour...duhhh!

Re: EEEEEEE

I wish I could hit a High C. But I'm not close yet. I'm not sure exactly what my range is. Although right now it doesn't matter that I can or can't hit a high C. I just want to keep improving and sing better always. Within the next week I am going to get a vocal teacher again. I haven't had one in a long time. I've just been flying solo.
