I don't think I could have done it at all without RYV. Or at least the vocals would be terrible. Thanks to all of you on this forum for listening to my song and giving me feedback. Your voice sounds really good on these songs too, i liked your voice most on kiss your ass goodbye (think thats what it was called)....
Have you ever heard a band called Mother Of Sin?, thats the closest band i could compare your band to, check them out.

Haven't heard of them. I'd love to but I just don't have the time like I used to. One of the reasons that I do not comment on singers who post on this board and check out new bands is because under my new management contract I am under strict order to only offer general advice in response to emails when I can and general advice on this board. I am swamped with hundreds of singers ususally per week, wanting me to tell them how to fix their sound. It was becoming overwhelming that is why my manager set up a song/ vocal exercise critique plan on the store. I really need to do some searching and fi d singers that I can trust to do interviews for this site and add links to new bands. So far, I have decided to work with Brandon Selvey and jlkjester is working on an interview. If you truly like the band, you are more than welcome to contact them, so an interview and send it to me with a request to post it on this site:)

I'm glad you like my voice and the music. I've been singing with RYV for about a year now. I sang a bit before that but I was completely untrained and could barely match a pitch. I've made an amazing amount of progress just by learning about the voice and praticing regularly!

I checked out Mother of Sin. Good band! I can hear the similarities. Thanks for letting me know about them.

SO Rtsdude- weird question- is your album on a label or are you doing it yourself? If the latter, how are you marketing it? The reason I'm asking is that I've got tunes that I've recorded on my own and I've always wanted to put out an album. The question is, how to get people to buy it and is it any good. I've got fans of my band that are very interested in buying it, but it's not done and I don't know if I'll ever finish it.
I think I need incentive that I'll actually sell some of them!
Sorry... is it a home process or are you actually having a label distribute, etc. Sorry, haven't had time to check it out. I will today. Thanks!

Thanks for listening I'm not on a label. I do everything myself... I'm marketing the cd using a bunch of different methods. Later this week I'm putting some videos on youtube to promote it. I'm waiting for more reviews of the cd to come out too. I've got a band myspace, which helps as well as a personal and band website. There's much more to be done in the future. The best way to promote and sell cds is to play gigs though!

You might want to finish up some of those songs and release an EP to test if people want to buy your music or not. If that has some success, keep going and doing more.
