Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Happy Birthday, Jaime!!!

Hey everyone,

First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAIME!! I hope you have a great day!

Now...as a kind of birthday present to Jaime, I thought it would be cool if each of us would record a sound clip of ourselves singing "Happy Birthday", and at the same time, inevitably, demonstrating what we have learned from him. For example, Lee Muria could make a really high version and Brandon could make a version with grit, or whatever.

Even though I've learned to expand my range in both directions significantly, and have developed habits that are good for vocal health, the most valuable thing I've learned from Jaime is to have CONFIDENCE. I know I'm not alone in my desire to be a rock singer, and I have the tools to reach my goal laid out in front of me. Even a year ago, I wouldn't have dreamed of recording myself singing and posting it on the internet, let alone singing at all with anyone else listening. I have become more eager to perform in front of an audience and I am more enthusiastic about singing in general. So let the following clip be a symbol of my vocal development!

I know it's not super high (only goes up to an E4) but I'm applying alot of the things I've learned from RYV such as breath support, resonance and placement.

So, thanks again Jaime for your wonderful book and invaluable help. I hope to meet you in person (and force you to give me private lessons) one day!

Hey legatoman, that clip sounds really nice, you definitely have a nice voice. I think you have persuaded me to set up my mic tomorrow and ill do the happy birthday and that C6 for you...lol

Alright, look...here's the deal...I went out today and bought a whole bunch of cinnamon and tea tree oil coated toothpicks, PLUS these little tablets that I'm supposed to take 15 a day of. The closest thing UI can give you to a birthday present is letting you know that I'm WELL on my way to becoming one of you filthy, dirty non-smokers.

So be proud of me...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

P.S. I have a feeling I'm gonna go through these toothpicks like tissue paper
