THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Just for kicks as well.

Not too huge into Ska, but i liked "parable" a lot... I wish i could have heard you better on the first track though, the mix is a little guitar heavy...Next time i'm in the Tampa area i'll have to see if you have a show

Re: Just for kicks as well.

i like 'psycho', did you record youselves or in a studio?, im trying to record my voice but it sounds overly bright and harsh

Re: Just for kicks as well.

All of that was recorded ourselves. Studios are lame.

Re: Just for kicks as well.

Sorceress, if you need any help, send me an e-mail at senorhotapples@hotmail.com. As long as you use a decent microphone, that shouldn't be a problem. But if you're using say, a computer mic, one of those skinny little ones, then you have to be careful with them. They distort quite easily.

Re: Just for kicks as well.

Yay, shameless self promotion! Me do! Me do!

WHOOPSY DOODLE!

That's me on everything, especially a chair. I sing sitting down, I know. Sometimes, I even fall asleep, mid-note. That's probably because I'm heavy. *winks at Paul* I still don't know what you meant by that...

You can get a great tone out of a guitar FX processor; shoot me an email and I'll walk you through setting one up. It's the easiest way to get into home recording, and the results can sound just as good as studio demos. The song on the above link is a good example of the quality level I've gotten using the guitar processor approach.
