THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Not really that interesting

Haha;) Honestly, I was burned out on doing scales, so I stripped it down to the boring basics, but I've learned over the years, at least for me, that you don't need 554 vocal scales or need to use anatomical terms to strengthen your voice. These are very flipping simple exercises. Do them, build muscle, then sing;)

I just really like how versatile it is. You can use it if you wanna scream like a banshee or if you just wanna sing some hillbilly music real well like me. LOL! It can easily be tailored for whatever your goals and music style are. That is the genius of it I think.

Re: Not really that interesting

That's because it's not really a total singing book per se' but more of a voice strengthening approach to build the muscles to sing whatever the heck you want;)

I like that. You should make that more known as a feature in your marketing of RYV products I think, Jamie. Just sayin. First impression people get when they look at your website/book can be misleading. It seems like it is only for metal/hard rockers. You might get more customers with a more nuanced approach. Just my 2 Cents.

Re: Interesting

Yeah, the isolation method is awesome!

Re: Interesting

Totally agree Bern, so many things and new products going on right now, I cannot even mention them because when i do, they are always delayed by months/years. needless to say, several projects that have been sore thumbs are close to launch. And we'll be revamping the site. As you all are part of the RYV family, any suggestions on site rework would be appreciated;)
