THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Jaime, will you cover this type of scream?

What kind of scream is this, anyway?
Anybody know?

I mean, it has a little bit of pitch and sounds shouty, rather than just like pure distortion. Also I remember it, being very easy, easier than singing really, so good and open, it made me literally laugh at one concert :)

Re: Jaime, will you cover this type of scream?

I don't know what sort of scream that is but I dig your band. Sorry to hear you guys aren't still jamming.

Re: Jaime, will you cover this type of scream?

I hop on here when I can. We will cover all screams eventually. But, when I'm contractually at the mercy of another company, as I am with the scream stuff, it takes a friggin eon to get it done. Two other screaming programs in the can and I'm stuck waiting on engineers to finish two hour long projects. I wears my patience;)

Re: Jaime, will you cover this type of scream?

Thank you gtrnflames.
That was one You-Realise-What-You-Have-Had-When-It's-Gone Stories.
Played in two bands at this time and the other one got more successful,
so no time for this one anymore, which had all of my heart.
Happy to read your comment though.

Jaime, what is trouble with the engineers? If I don't get anything wrong - being a media designer for audiovisual content myself - this is a job that takes some endurance, due to the details I would like to work on, but still should be done in a short time, whatsoever. This is not so much an arty job, since you might wanna keep it honest and legit.

As for me, I am interested in a healthy way of this broken-hearted scream, rather than the aggressive distorted metal scream, even though I love Spencer from Underoath.
