THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Singing is healthy for you!!

hey john!
Thank´s for posting this great article :)
it really is a cool read and I can tell you from
my own experience that it is true!
One year ago, when I was 16, I suffered from horrible depressions but when I started to get serious about vocal training and started singing from my heart and soul to take over the world as a professional singer, my mood started to get better from day to day. There were people who put me down, telling me that I couldn´t sing for sh...! Well when I listen to my old records it seems they were right ;) BUT none of that mattered to me because I was very self confidident with a "you ain´t gonna get ME down" attidute.
I didn´t give up!!! I started to take lessons (valerie bastien) three months ago and since then I am progressing incredibly fast! I actually feel that I am improving EVERY day :) I learned that talent doesn´t really matter in life, it is all about what you want to achieve in! My depressions are gone and I am so happy and positive that I even feel my positive resonance flowing out of me......yes I have read mindset haha ;) So I can absolutely say that singing saved my life and that´s a beautifull
experience! The article is also right about singers beeing more open minded and nicer than most other people! Singing has got so many marvellous effects on your body and soul, it truly is incredible!!!

Well that´s enough of me telling my story ;)
Greets from Austria!
