THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: Hey There Delilah

Thanks a bunch Rene! Can I ask you a strange question? Are you a guy or a girl? Most people named Rene where I live are girls. I don't want to address you improperly.

Thanks a lot for your comments. I really appreciate it. As my 5 year old son says, "It makes my feelings happy!" :)I love singing country now a days. It is funny because I used to hate country as a teenager. I thought it was so "redneck" backwoods. I was real into Metal for a long time. As I get older I realize how stupid that attitude was. Beautiful awesome music is found in every style. I still love rock and metal, but I find myself listening to and playing/singing country a lot more than anything now. I'm getting old. LOL! It comes naturally. I'm using the Isolation Method to increase my range a little, but mainly it is making my natural range sound alot better and more connected. Who cares how high you can sing if your notes sound like crap? LOL!

Greetings to you from Marietta, Georgia, USA (I live near and work in Atlanta) Austria hungh? The closest I've been to Austria was when I saw the castle in Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. I love Southern Germany and I'm sure I would Austria too.

Well listen to the record I´ve just posted here and you will find out that I am 100% DUDE lol

Reneé= Girl

Well I don´t know Germany that well because I have only been there once.....for the Ozzy concert in munich YEAH my best concert ever :)
But Germany isn´t that far away. I live in southern Austria (Carinthia) and Germany is only around 2-3 hours away (car).....but Austria is more beatifull.....especially southern Austria lol just kidding. I hate to admid it but I´ve never been to the USA yet, I would love to but neither have the cash nor the time to do so. But I certainly am gonna be there one day for a looong vacation and afterwards I am gonna travell to London for another looong vacation (love this town) :))

It seems like an enchanted paradise in my mind. I have been to London once. It was a very nice vacation. I really enjoyed all the history of the place. I took a tour and got to ride one of those double deck buses for the first time! :)

Re: Hey There Delilah

Never thought of this song suiting a country voice honest but it does :)

Thanks Josh! I don't really try to make my voice sound that way. When I'm relaxed and singing as naturally as I can, that is how I sound. I'm from the Southeastern United States, so it is similar to how I talk (the accent and inflection).

Re: Hey There Delilah

I could tell it was a 100% natural :)
I just love the way country singers sound. The inflections, depth and they can sing songs either with a lot a raunch or have a subtle emotion in their voices under-laying the voice(If that made sense xD )
