THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

The Raise your Voice book

Dear members,

I got to singing for two reasons:

1.-I can't help but love music.
2.-Is my way to get in feeling and let life live through me.

Recently I injured my Larynx while crazyly trying to yell against a car stereo playing Queensryche.

I got injured and thought I've gotten nodules.
I emailed Jaime about reversing them but I hadn't had doctor comfirmation and he replied saying it depends. Thank God I didn't had them. So I proceeded to thank him and buy raise your voice.
All that I had was one workshop where they teach you to sing from feeling and connected to the song: the base.

I started reading Raise your voice for half an hour and after that: The Difference is amazing. I want to post so you can see.
I'm also training my ear with Earmaster.
How do I post audio so you can hear.

To be honest I never thought I could sing.

I should post this on Jaime's youtube. Since people that can read this already are getting results

Re: The Raise your Voice book

Sounds good, man!
You should try posting it on YouTube...or post it on YouSendIt.com for us to download.

Re: The Raise your Voice book

Einar, thanx for the kind comments. My love of the voice and my true passion for helping singers is why I do this. You make it all worth while:)

Re: The Raise your Voice book

earmaster? sounds interesting, is it any good for pitch work etc?

Re: The Raise your Voice book

It's designed for relative pitch and it can be configured for perfect pitch too.
Believe me, a year ago I would be asked to shut up for singing so out of tune. I keep getting closer and closer.

Re: The Raise your Voice book

I'm using Windows Live Skydrive to share the files. They show how I have progressed from sucky, breathy out of pitch screaming to somewhat on pitch singer.
