THE VOICE CONNECTION
SOUND OFF

Welcome to The Voice Connection Sound Off; a forum for users of books like Raise Your Voice, Melody to Madness, The Ultimate Breathing Workout, and Unleash Your Creative Mindset, as well as a place for Vendera Vocal Academy members to interact.

This message board was created so that singers could come together and "sound off" to help support each other during vocal development and the creative process of unleashing the creative spark that occurs when writing and producing music. Currently, myself and vocal coaches Ben Valen, Ray West, and Ryan Wall are here to respond periodicially to your questions, with new vocal coaches coming soon. But, feel free to help each other too:)

This board is here for you to ask questions about my and my fellow coach's books, videos, and MP3 programs, as well as offer others help with our vocal techniques. You may also post videos of yourself and your band to share your music and ask for critiques.

Please refrain from negative comments, profanities, spamming, and inappropriate criticisms of vocal methodologies, vocal coaches, and singers. All negative posts will be deleted and subject to banning without question. I will not respond to negative posts, because, as Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” With that said, positive criticism is welcome because that is how you'll grow as a singer during the training process.

Re: I gotta fight for my right TO PARTY!

I disagree with the leaning thing. Leaning in is a perfect chance to get to get physically close to the girl :) It's far better than to shout so loud at her that her hair starts to blow back.

Re: I gotta fight for my right TO PARTY!

hahaha. the "technique" is talking at your same volume, and if they want to hear what you say they'll lean in. but if you lean in first tehy'll see that they don't need to and keep letting you do it. Learning all this stuff from David De Angelo was great, but I found learning it and then FORGETTING IT makes it work. if you use it as a "technique" its very fake. Once you internalise it and forget it, it just amplifies who you naturally are, then you can just "be yourself". I foudn and married the girl of my dreams.

Re: I gotta fight for my right TO PARTY!

I know this is getting *CRAZY* off-topic.
BUT I just came back from my 18th birthday(!!) :P
I spoke in a *normal voice* ,drank a lot of water (to level the alcohol) and instead of any of us leaning in: If she showed interest in what I said (or in me you might say) I just pulled her a little bit closer because we are both just interested in the thing we have going! (and it's alpha and stuff..) :)
well, it works for me anyway... :P

Anyway guys, It's 5Am and I have a rehearsal in 9 hours for a muse tribute concert in Thursday and I need to sleep and warm up before!!!
wish me luck! :D

(BTW, I think we can now end this PUA thread :P)

Keep on rocking (and sarging?) in the free world!
good night :)
