ANNOUNCEMENT
In view of the poll results in which 75% of our posters prefer the new version of TCCMB it has been decided to continue the new version.
However a few posters are very strong in their preference of the old version, where the threaded view made it easier to follow the path of the discussions, it has also been decided to maintain the old version as well (at least for one year).
The new version has a lot of extra options that cannot be done on the old version and it's no surprise that a large majority prefers the new version above the old TCCMB. Last month has shown that the main part of the discussions take place on the new version, which also is an important fact.
Unfortunately, in the last weeks the old version has almost completely fallen back to a state of a collection of isolated messages with no reactions to the few postings at all. One may wonder who reads them if no comments have been made.
At present the discussions have come to a "summer silence" level on both the old and the new version, which is a common phenomenon during summer since the many years that TCCMB already exists. Another factor might be the competition felt from the highly successful new ICCF forum, where many discussions take place that previously came to TCCMB. There is, however, one important difference: TCCMB is not connected to any official organisation and therefore should be the place where correspondence chess players would meet who not necessarily want to discuss matters within one particular organisation alone.
Several of our regular posters are active members within both ICCF and IECG, are frequently playing chess games on FICGS, Schemingmind or other webserver organisations. Being a home for all chess players, this is what we always have been and what we will continue to be in future.
