Hi Gino,

That's absolutely true! When I have 50 games at a time (as is currently the case with my games load), if I use 0-1 days in a particular game it's certain that I haven't spend much time on it. But if I answer 7-10 days later, it might be because I have spent 7-10 days on another more important game first and let the other game wait ...
So the used time depends on factors outside the game as well.

But returning to the issue of how much time a tournament can take, then one must acknowledge that this depends how long the last games take.
Therefore it's fundamentally a matter of game duration and its statistical distrubution function.
On the other hand there are players who systematically take much time and/or even stall their games when they like (contrary to the average behaviour of players). I consider these games as outliers in the distribution, against which my rule change proposals were meant.

The average player will not suffer from these proposals. But a general change from 50/10 to 40/10 would certainly affect all players and the games load as well. I therefore excluded these kind of proposals.

Best wishes,
Wim
