Message:   Hi Gino,

I very rarely chat and only sometimes even sign my moves. I start out signing the moves but if my opponent leaves the reply blank then I don't bother either.

Most opponents seem to have no desire to chat and simply make their moves. Even in the postal days it was mostly bare moves with only a signature. The players would introduce themselves at the beginning of the game and make some comments at the end of the game. I think this still happens now. In between there doesn't seem to be much to say.

Personally, winning or losing, I never comment on the game in progress. I never touch politics or religion or world events which are mainly wars these days as a topic. Short of including a newsletter from Miss HatchetHead it doesn't leave many topics for discussion.
