Hi Gino,
I agree with Peter that the display of leave on the ICCF-Server is non optimal.
The only way to be all time informed about opponents' leave is to open every game where it is my move and check the calendar. Day by day.
I don't do that. Probably simply because it is mostly in vain (= no leave taken).
I check the calendar in two cases.
When my opponent is in time trouble I try to avoid to give him free thinking time, so I check if he has taken leave before I move.
The second case is when I see on the Games list that my opponent has taken leave and I want to find out when the leave started and when it will end.
But it happened to me that I made a move and only then I found out that my opponent is on leave and the game is on ice for 30 or 60 days. Unpleasant feeling.
What also happened to me is that I found out about my opponent's leave about half a year or so later.
He had taken 5 days of leave in January but I didn't take note of it, because he sent the move just the day before his leave and when I answered his leave was completed already.
Important or not ?
No high priority in my opinion, but not optimal as it is now.
Opponents' leave displayed in the Games list in all cases would be helpful.
Best wishes,
Wolfram |
