Message:   Non server tournaments require a report of leaves being taken or granted, otherwise nobody would know. Server tournaments don't require these reports because this info is shown online at all times in the leave calendar, and in the status column, when your opponent is on move.
You argue that checking all games everyday is inconvenient. The question is why would you want to check everyday and everyplayer? The current time control is 10/50 or five days per move; therefore on average, every five days and after making a move, your game list will tell you if your opponent is on leave.
Reason for special leave is not displayed on the server.
You want to know the reason to verify its validity. The question is, how hard is it to ask the TD?
